Mega Mobility: Rs 28,227 Cr Cleared for MMR and Pune Transit

The Maharashtra government has greenlit Rs 28,227 crore worth of critical transport infrastructure for the MMR and Pune regions. A major share goes toward Mumbai’s Rs 17,724.99-crore Metro Line 13, a 25.03-km route spearheaded by the MMRDA to seamlessly connect Mira Road, Vasai, Thane, and Palghar with existing suburban rails and Metro Line 9. Meanwhile, Pune will see an eastern extension of its Ring Road, easing congestion by rerouting inter-state and inter-city traffic around the urban core.
